Pinch Hazards and Safety Precautions!

1. •Always be aware of pinch points that are present in your work area, including those associated with tools you may use or work with and/or near. 
   

2. •Never place your hands near or reach across rotating mechanical parts. 
   

3. •Always be alert whenever you place your fingers or hands between any objects.
   

Tools Required: TX27 Security Bit

2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma Tailgate Lock - Anti-Theft Locking Device v2.0 Installation:

1. •Apply a light amount soapy water or light oil to the rubber seals to allow ease of installation
   

2. •Interlink the two pieces of the locking device together to the install position; making the parts thin enough to install through the hinge cup and hinge flange
   

3. •Rotate the tailgate to the position where it can be removed from the hinge flange
   

4. •Partially lift the right side of the tailgate off the truck to clear the hinge flange
   

5. •Install the locking device over the hinge cup per the figure below:

16. •Place the tailgate back on the truck with the locking device installed over the hinge cup in the interlocked position 
    

17. •Once the tailgate is re-installed, rotate the locking device to the locked position per figure below

2. •Secure the locking device in the locked position with the fastener provided
   

3. •For additional security, metal epoxy can be installed into the fastener head

   Note:

   Addition Installation Steps may be required on some vehicles/years due to variability of longer then normal hinge pins or excess sealant around hinge cup or factory mis-alignment of the tailgate.

   
   

   For vehicles with the issue, follow the following steps may be required:

   • Loosen the two T40 screws on the right side of the hinge

   • Loosen the 12mm bolt on the front of the hinge

   • Install the lock over the hinge in the install position

   • With the hinge loose install the tailgate back on the truck

   • Tightened everything back up and adjust the alignment

   
   

   We do recommend you secure the screw with epoxy putty, but this will make it hard to remove
   

   
   

   
   

   
   

   
   

   2007 - Current Toyota Tundra, 2004 - Current Ford F-Series Installation Instructions:
   

   
   

   • Rotate the tailgate and partially remove it from the hinge. Allow enough room to insert the bottom half of the part

   • Install the bottom piece onto the hinge cup then install the tailgate back onto the truck

   • Once the bottom piece is installed, reinstall the tailgate back on the hinge

   • Install the upper piece by connecting the hinge point

   • Rotate the part to the closed position

   • Install the security screw

   
   

   We do recommend you secure the screw with epoxy putty, but this will make it hard to remove
